異國料理文化交流活動 讓銀髮長輩與越南青年共煮跨國情誼

推廣營運處推廣教育中心、國際專修部、華語文中心共同舉辦一場別開生面的「異國料理文化交流」活動,讓在地樂齡大學銀髮族長輩學員與來自越南即將升大學的青年學子,透過料理體驗了解彼此文化,促進跨世代與跨國的交流。

Cooking across cultures brings Taiwanese and Vietnamese students together

The Extension Education Center, International Training Department, and Chinese Language Center of the Extension Operations Office at Hungkuang University jointly hosted a unique event titled “Exotic Cuisine Cultural Exchange.”

This special activity brought together senior university students in Taiwan and young Vietnamese students preparing to begin their university journey. Through hands-on cooking experiences, participants explored each other’s cultures while promoting both cross-generational and cross-national connections.

The event took place in the university’s Chinese cuisine classroom, led by Zeng Kaixiang, a teacher from the Department of Hospitality Management. In the morning session, he demonstrated three classic Taiwanese dishes: freshly painted scallops and cabbage, stewed chicken with aged preserved radish, and lotus leaf rice with cherry shrimp. The afternoon class focused on making Vietnamese home-cooked delicacies such as beef pho and Vietnamese spring rolls.

At the end of the course, students voted for light-hearted awards such as “Best Creativity,” “Best Plating,” and “Popular Flavor.” Many students shared that they not only learned new culinary techniques from both Taiwanese and Vietnamese cuisines, but also experienced a strong sense of accomplishment.

The Extension Education Centre of the Promotion and Operations Division said that using cooking as a medium not only enabled the participants to improve their practical skills, but also built a bridge across generations and countries. It certainly left unforgettable memories for everyone who participated.
