Legislative Yuan and Ministry of Sports Inspect HKU Esports Arena, Highly Commending the University’s Achievements in Esports Education
立法院教育及文化委員會召集委員羅廷瑋、運動部長李洋於7月15日到本校電競館，舉辦「臺中地區運動設施考察」，實地了解電競場館建置、人才培育及產學合作推動情形，立法院副院長江啟臣特別趕來參加。本校在電競運動、選手培養及賽事舉辦上的努力備受肯定。李部長與羅委員更在江啟臣副院長的見證下，直接在電競館選手室展開《英雄聯盟》PK友誼賽。
On July 15, Lo Ting-wei, Convener of the Education and Culture Committee of the Legislative Yuan, and Lee Yang, Minister of Sports, visited the Hungkuang University (HKU) Esports Arena to conduct an “Inspection of Sports Facilities in the Taichung Area.” The visit aimed to gain a first-hand understanding of esports arena construction, talent cultivation, and the promotion of industry-academia collaboration. Johnny Chiang, Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, also made a special trip to attend the event.
HKU’s dedication to esports, player training, and tournament organization received high commendation from the delegation. Witnessed by Vice President Chiang, Minister Lee and Convener Lo even faced off in a friendly League of Legends (LoL) match inside the arena’s professional players’ room.
