Congratulations! The Malaysian Alumni Association of Hungkuang University Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary as Alumni Gather for Connection

弘光科技大學馬來西亞校友會歡慶成立10週年,8月15日晚間在八打靈再也PJ Centrestage五樓喜來登酒家(Restaurant Hee Lai Ton)舉辦「2026弘光之夜暨會員大會」。弘光科技大學校長蘇弘毅、國際長田其虎專程訪馬出席與會,駐馬來西亞代表處教育組組長廖苡亘、僑務組組長廖建勛,以及馬來西亞留臺校友會聯合總會署理會長顏振輝亦應邀出席,席間新舊校友與各界嘉賓齊聚一堂。
校友會會長傅經棣代表校友會向各方致謝,感謝母校弘光科大師長遠道而來,也感謝各界貴賓與全體會員撥冗出席共襄盛舉。走過整整10個年頭,這個校友會早已成了在馬弘光人彼此照應、相互扶持的溫暖所在。
廖苡亘感謝弘光科大長年悉心栽培優秀學子、積極支持臺馬兩地教育交流,近年更配合推展技職教育師資培訓,為兩地技職人才的接軌與銜接鋪路。校長蘇弘毅表示,看著馬來西亞校友會從當年草創一路成長茁壯、校友們在各地發光發熱,備感欣慰。他期許校友會日後繼續扮演學校與馬來西亞留臺生、生源學校之間的重要橋梁。
晚宴特別安排多位校友分享從求學階段到投入職場、自行創業的歷程。幼保系校友回顧在學期間遠赴新加坡實習的日子,把課堂所學帶到第一線,並提及創業的甘苦談;餐飲系校友分享曾到義大利研習的收穫,談起那段開拓眼界的經歷;食科系同學則細數所學專業如何一步步更接近夢想,在各自崗位上開花結果。籌委會主席周穎回憶在校參加國聯社、擔任社團幹部的點點滴滴,那段張羅活動、帶著同學一起做事的歷練,日後成了他行走職場的底氣。
籌委會精心準備「弘光大小事」搶答以及幸運抽獎,全場鼓掌起鬨、此起彼落,現場氣氛溫馨而熱鬧。
The Malaysian Alumni Association of Hungkuang University celebrated its 10th anniversary by hosting the “2026 Hungkuang Night and General Meeting” on the evening of August 15 at the Restaurant Hee Lai Ton on the 5th floor of PJ Centrestage in Petaling Jaya. Hungkuang University President Hung-Yi Su and Dean of International Affairs Chi-Hu Tien made a special trip to Malaysia to attend the event. Guests included Liao Yi-Hsuan, Director of the Education Division, and Liao Chien-Hsun, Director of the Expatriate Affairs Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, as well as Gan Chen-Hui, Deputy President of the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia. Former and current alumni gathered with guests from all walks of life for the occasion.
Poo Keng-Teck, President of the Alumni Association, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the association to the faculty and leaders of his alma mater, Hungkuang University, for traveling from afar, as well as to all guests and members for taking the time to attend. Over the past 10 years, the Alumni Association has served as a warm hub where Hungkuang alumni in Malaysia look out for and support one another.
Liao Yi-Hsuan thanked Hungkuang University for its long-standing dedication to cultivating outstanding talent and supporting educational exchanges between Taiwan and Malaysia. She noted that the university has also aligned with initiatives to promote vocational education teacher training in recent years, paving the way for seamless integration of technical and vocational talent between both sides. President Hung-Yi Su expressed deep gratification in seeing the Malaysian Alumni Association grow from its early stages to a thriving community, with alumni shining in their respective fields. He expressed hope that the association would continue to serve as a key bridge between the university, Malaysian students studying in Taiwan, and feeder schools.
The dinner featured special sharing sessions where several alumni reflected on their journeys from their student days to entering the workforce and starting their own businesses. An alumnus from the Department of Child Care and Education recalled interning in Singapore during university, applying classroom knowledge on the front lines, and shared the joys and challenges of entrepreneurship. An alumnus from the Department of Food and Beverage Management shared insights gained from studying in Italy and how that eye-opening experience shaped their outlook. A student from the Department of Food Science detailed how their academic background helped them take steps toward their dreams and bear fruit in their career. Chiew Keng-Fai, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, reminisced about his time in the International Student Club and serving as a club officer. The experience of organizing events and leading peers became a strong foundation for his career.
The organizing committee arranged a “Hungkuang Trivia” quiz and a lucky draw, filling the room with applause and cheers, creating a warm and lively atmosphere throughout the evening.
