餐旅管理系10名師生日前參加「2026砂拉越聯盟環球廚藝挑戰賽」,奪得5金4銀9銅佳績。其中,大三學生張亦呈一口氣挑戰3項現場烹飪賽事,拿下2金1銀,擅長西餐料理的他挑戰亞洲菜,用雞肉作出泰式風味三種料理方式,在亞洲風味主菜中獲得全場最高分,還以西式料理手法,將馬來西亞鴨肉做出風味層次豐富軟嫩的西餐珍饈,得到評審團高度肯定,而榮獲賽事最高榮譽「環球最傑出明日之星獎」。

Ten faculty members and students from the Department of Hospitality Management recently participated in the “2026 Sarawak League Global Culinary Challenge,” achieving an impressive record of 5 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Among the winners, junior student Chang Yi-cheng challenged himself by entering three live cooking categories, securing 2 golds and 1 silver.
Specializing in Western cuisine, Chang took on Asian culinary categories, utilizing chicken to create three distinct Thai-style preparations, which earned him the highest score in the Asian Main Course category. Furthermore, he applied Western culinary techniques to Malaysian duck, transforming it into a Western delicacy with rich layers of flavor and a tender texture. His exceptional performance received high praise from the judging panel, earning him the competition’s highest honor: the “Global Outstanding Rising Star Award.”
