In response to the recent soybean salad oil safety incident and the government’s continuously updated lists of affected downstream distributors, Hungkuang University (HK) has fully activated its campus dining food safety protection mechanism.
The Health Care Section of the Office of Student Affairs conducts daily inspections of all campus restaurants and convenience stores in accordance with the latest announcements issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). If any oil products currently in use are identified as affected products in the latest government announcements, the University will require the dining operators to remove them from use immediately and replace them with certified safe oil products without delay.
Following on-site re-inspections, all oil products currently used by campus dining units operating during the summer break have been confirmed to comply with all relevant safety regulations. The University will continue to uphold the highest food safety standards and closely monitor campus dining services to safeguard the health of our campus community. Faculty, students, and parents may rest assured.
