The Department of Food Science and Technology held the “Time for Food” achievement exhibition, where students from both the Food Science and Technology Module and the Baking Technology Module fully demonstrated what they have learned. The first-place winner in the Food Science and Technology Module researched the optimal brewing method for cocoa bean husk tea, providing a new direction for small-scale cocoa bean farmers in Taiwan to process and utilize agricultural by-products to increase their income. Meanwhile, the first-place winner in the cake category of the Baking Technology Module was the creation Topsy-Turvy Tomato, in which students used tomatoes and Thai basil minced pork to make a cake roll, presenting an astonishing and innovative flavor that is simultaneously savory, sweet, slightly sour, and spicy.
